"Sit in the center of a library. Somewhere where you can see people. Don’t read a book; read the people around you. See the little girl working on her math homework, the teenage boy bobbing his head to the song he is listening to, the girl across from him who cannot stop staring at him, the men with ties too tight looking at long lists of numbers, the girl hiding behind a pile of books, and the women ripping her paper in half. Somehow I now realize every person is a book with a unique story to tell."

I can’t even- my god. This piece is…simply outstanding. It is my favorite moving song in the SnK OST. Not only does it portray every single aspect of the show itself, but even of you can’t understand the words you can still feel that it’s a dramatic song that shows insight in to the show. At first it is graceful, faithful, radiant, happy and strong, but then there’s a sudden change in tone where it becomes macabre, hopeless, dreadful and utterly fearful. This is exactly what the show does to the viewers, make them feel strong one moment and then it breaks you down to the point where you lose hope. It’s a rollercoaster of emotional proportions that took me by surprise too many times to count. Every time I listen to this song it takes my breath away. I cried so many times listening to it at first and thinking about all the things that made the show so dramatic; the destruction, the death and especially the fear. I love and cherish this song. It’s a piece that any composer should fawn over. I’d marry it if I could!

"Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book. And then there are books like An Imperial Affliction, which you can’t tell people about, books so special and rare and yours that advertising your affection feels like a betrayal."
